Great Divide does it best when they make big oak chipped or barrel-aged IPA's. The 17th Anniversary is just that, an Anniversary Ale, which happens to be a ramped up version of their Denver Pale Ale. Coming in at 10% ABV with heavy whiskey/vanilla tons on the side of the palate as the beer warms.
