The pour was a medium brown with a nice orange hue and a large (2-3 finger) cream colored rocky head that receded very slowly, down to a large thick cap with excellent sheets of sticky lacing.
The aroma was of a light biscuit malt, floral hops and a mild funky Belgian yeast with notes of caramel, citrus (grapefruit), a mild fruity ester (apple and pineapple), a hint of cask and a moderate bourbon scent.
The taste was bitter sweet and a tad yeasty, with a hint of caramel and a slight fruitiness right off, and then became a bit hoppy with a somewhat bold citrus peel bitterness along with a lightly sweet woody alcohol presence at the end. The flavor lingered for quite a long time proceeding the swallow, with a slight citrus peel bite hitting you right in the back of the throat.
Mouthfeel was just below medium in body and dry it texture with a moderate carbonation.
Overall this brew possessed a good hoppy bitterness that was offset rather nicely by a mild fruity presence, which created a beer that was very easy to drink and left a pleasing aftertaste on the taste buds...
