The pour was a murky medium orange with an average (1-2 finger) off white frothy head that receded slowly, down to a large fluffy cap which lasted throughout and produced full sheets of sticky lacing.
The aroma was of a biscuit malt, floral and spruce hops and a cheesy yeast with notes of citrus (orange and lemon peel), a light fruity ester (pineapple I believe) and caramel.
The taste was mildly sweet with a hint of caramel at first, but quickly became extremely hoppy and lightly fruity with a bold citrus peel bitterness that had a nice bite right at the end. The flavor hung around for a very long time after the swallow with everything else finally giving way to a long lingering citrus peel bitterness.
Mouthfeel was almost medium in body and extremely dry in texture with a carbonation that just past medium in intensity.
Overall this was an exceptional IPA with a strong bold bitterness, which was balanced nicely by a light fruitiness and a mild caramel sweetness giving it a smooth and easy drinkability…
