The pour was a hazy golden orange with an average (1-2 finger) white frothy head that quickly diminished, down to a light wispy film and small collar with fair runny lacing.
The aroma was of a light cereal malt and a funky Belgian yeast with notes of overripe peaches, candi sugar, oak cask and a light white wine odor.
The taste was on the mild side with a lightly sweet malty flavor along with a hint of candi sugar and a light peach presence which was present throughout, progressing with a decently strong dose of yeast, a hint of cask and a somewhat bold alcohol tinge at the end. The flavor lasted a long time proceeding the swallow, with the fruity yeasty taste fading almost entirely leaving way for the strong alcohol taste to take over.
Mouthfeel was light in body and mildly dry in texture with a prickly carbonation.
Overall I was expecting a bit more from this beer being it had won a medal. Although it was decently tasty and easy to drink, the flavor wound up being more about the high alcohol presence than anything else...
