New Belgium "Rolle Bolle"
New Belgium Brewing Company - Fort Collins, Colorado USA
Belgian Pale Ale (ABV 5.5%) (IBU 30)

[Suggested Glassware: Tulip Glass]

Rating: 3.3/5.0

Aroma: 6/10
Appearance: 3/5
Taste: 7.5/10
Palate: 3/5
Overall: 13/20

The pour was a lightly cloudy straw yellow with an average (1-2 finger) white frothy head that eventually reduced to a fluffy puddled film with a large collar, which produced excellent full sheets of lacing.

The aroma was of grain and cereal malts, herbal hops and a soapy Belgian yeast with a bold note of citrus (lemon), a mild vinous scent, a definite fruitiness (must be the monk fruit) and a light peppery spice.

The taste was lightly bitter with a nice fruity sweetness and a creamy malty feel from the start, becoming decently hoppy with a strong citrus presence and just a touch of spice towards the finish. The flavor lasted a tad longer than average following the swallow, with the slightly spicy citrus taste fading slowly off the taste buds.

Mouthfeel was light in body with a creamy, dry texture and a ticklish carbonation.

Overall this is a good summer BBQ brew that I see it pairing very well with some grilled Surf and Turf...
