The pour was a murky brownish orange with an average (1-2 finger) light tan frothy head that was mostly lasting, reducing to a moderate soapy film with large collar that lasted throughout and had excellent sheets of sticky lacing.
The aroma was of a light biscuit malt, pine hops and a cheesy yeast with notes of caramel, toffee and citrus (orange and lemon).
The taste was lightly acidic and very malty with a decent caramel sweetness from the onset, becoming rather hoppy with a good bold piney presence and a bitter citrus peel ending. The flavor lasted for a very long time proceeding the swallow, with a boldly bitter hoppy taste left behind to linger just a tad longer.
Mouthfeel was a bit below medium in body and dry in texture with a strong medium carbonation.
Overall this was a highly impressive tasting IPA. It possessed a mild malty sweetness that blended perfectly with the bitter piney citrus flavor which did a superb job of concealing the somewhat high ABV, except for a light alcohol warming sensation right at the end...
