The pour was a clear light to medium brown with a slight amber hue and had an average size (1-2 finger) off white rocky head that quickly dissipated and produced fair lacing.
The aroma was a nice mix of toasted grain malts, a light spruce hop and a cheesy yeast with a strong smoky note.
It tasted a little sweet and malty with a hint of caramel at first then became slightly bitter with a moderate smoky note at the end with the flavor lasting a decent amount of time after the swallow.
Mouthfeel was just a tad under medium in body and had a dry texture with a nice mild carbonation.
Overall it was kind of what I expected from a Rauchbier, a strong smoke characteristic which basically took over in the flavor department at the finish.
