The pour was a clear medium to dark brown with an average sized (1-2 finger) creamy light brown head that stuck around for a little while leaving behind a slight residue which clung to the sides of the glass creating some fair lacing.
The aroma was of a toasted caramel malt, a mild touch of resin hops and a sweet earthy yeast with notes of dark fruit and molasses.
The taste started out moderately sweet and a bit malty with a hint of caramel and molasses then worked itself into a more distinct bitter sour flavor with a definite note of dark fruit and a strong alcohol presence at the end. The dark fruit flavor was left lingering on the taste buds for a nice long while after the swallow, along with an slight alcohol warming sensation.
Mouthfeel was just about medium in body with a almost syrupy texture and a mild carbonation.
Overall an impressive tasting brew, one with nice sweet fruit flavor that was off set nicely by the slight alcohol tinge it possessed.
