The pour was a dark chestnut brown with an average sized (1-2 finger) light brown rocky head that diminished slightly to a foamy residue which had great longevity and some awesome lacing.

The aroma was of a dark bread malt, pine hops and a sweaty yeast with notes of toffee, dark fruit, coffee and licorice.

The taste was a bitter malty with a hint of licorice and dark fruit at first and then a nice bitter sweet hoppy flavor set in with a note of roasted coffee at the end. The flavor stuck around for quite a long time after the swallow with the taste of the pine hops left to linger on the taste buds.

Mouthfeel was strong medium in body and a tad oily in texture with a mild carbonation.

Overall a bold and hoppy Black IPA with just the right amount of sweetness, thus creating the perfect balance of flavor in this exceptional brew.
