The pour was a thick pitch black with a huge (3-4 finger) light/medium brown creamy head that lasted throughout and produced some seriously excellent sheeting of lacing which totally engulfed the glass.
The aroma was a tad sweet and had a strong blueberry presence along with some roasted chocolate malts and a sweet doughy yeast with hints of milk chocolate and roasted coffee.
The taste was extremely malty and a bit sweet with the blueberry presence right up front and then progressed into a mild bitter taste with notes of coffee and chocolate (which fought for dominance with the blueberry) before having a mildly sweet finish. The flavor lasted a very long time after the swallow with a nice bitter sweet blueberry chocolate taste, which lead up to a slight alcohol warming sensation at the end.
Mouthfeel was a bit beyond medium in body with a creamy dry texture and a soft carbonation.
Overall a brew which has a mild battle of flavors fighting on the taste buds, eventually neither wins and they wind up blending in a superb fashion creating a fantastic explosion of flavor that leaves you wanting more...
