The pour was a clear medium brown with some reddish highlights and a large (3-4 finger) light brown frothy head that had great retention, reducing to a med cap and having good streaky lacing.
The aroma was of a dark bread malt, floral hops and a sweet doughy yeast with notes of toffee, dark fruit (plums, figs and overripe grapes) and a mild nuttiness.
The taste was very malty with a nice toffee sweetness from the onset, becoming fully robust with a bold dark fruit presence and a mild hoppiness towards the finish. The flavor lasted an average time proceeding the swallow with a good fruity maltiness and a slight alcohol warming sensation left to linger.
Mouthfeel was just under medium in body with a dry oily texture and a ticklish carbonation.
Overall a fully robust and flavorful brew that possessed a nice light sweet fruitiness, which worked perfectly along with the slight hoppy presence...
