The pour was a very dark brown with a slight ruby hue and an average (1-2 finger) light tan creamy head that was mostly diminishing, down to a thin film with a small collar and fair streaky lacing.
The aroma was of a roasted caramel malt, a very mild resin hop and a sweet leathery yeast with notes of molasses, toffee, chocolate and some dark fruit (prunes and figs).
The taste was malty and sweet with a hint of molasses and mild chocolate presence at first, and then progressed with a little toffee sweetness, a touch of dark fruit and a mild bitter finish. The flavor was short lived and steadily faded at a moderate pace from the taste buds.
Mouthfeel was a hair below medium in body and rather creamy in texture with a pretty much flat carbonation.
Overall a nice sweet and robust brew, with a great feel and an awesome drinkability...
