The pour was a clear copper brown with an average (1-2 finger) off white rocky head that reduced down to just a small collar, which produced some fair spotty lacing.
The aroma was of a stale bread malt and an earthy yeast with notes of caramel, toffee, maple syrup and a hint of smoke.
The taste was malty and lightly sweet with a hint of caramel early on, with the finish having a slightly harsh hop bite, a light toffee sweetness and a mild smoke presence. The flavor lasted a decent amount of time following the swallow, with a mild smoky malt flavor left behind.
Mouthfeel was just beyond light in body and somewhat watery in texture with a prickly carbonation.
Overall a decent enough tasting Oktoberfest, which had a nice malty-sweet smoky flavor...
