The pour was a clear light cranberry red with an average (1-2 finger) light tan frothy head that diminished to a thin film with a small collar and had fair sheets of lacing.
The aroma right off was full of an abundance of chestnuts, that along with a bit of oats and a note of raspberry but not much else.
The taste was very lightly sweet with a light hint of raspberry and candi sugar at first, and then became mildly tart with a overwhelming nutty presence and a slight bitter ending. The flavor lasted a decent while with the slightly tart fruity taste and harsh bitterness lingering on.
Mouthfeel was light in body and dry in texture with a somewhat lively carbonation.
Overall I find all Gluten-free brews to be seriously lacking in on way or another. Although I guess as the style goes this one is OK, it was however too overly nutty (having almost a sickening scent) but the tartness of the raspberry did help some. I have come to the conclusion that I will never become a fan of Gluten-free brews...
