The Hoss Rye Lager from Great Divide Brewing Company in Denver, Colorado pours out a dirty orange in color with some cloud and is topped with a one finger, cream colored head that reduces down quite quickly. Big malt notes on the nose with biscuit and caramel most prominent. Hints of honey and earth. In the mouth, this is a malty treat with flavors of honey, biscuit, some vegetal bitterness and a little dark fruit. Medium bodied. Quite well carbonated. Little lacing on the glass. Slightly creamy mouthfeel. The finish is long and dry.
A nice lager for sure. I do not drink many lagers but I would definitely drink this again. Recommended.
