The St. Lupulin Extra Pale Ale from Odell Brewing Company in Fort Collins, Colorado pours out a deep gold in color with some coppery hues, good clarity and is topped with a two finger head that slowly dissipates. On the nose, aromas of pine, wildflower and a little lavender. In the mouth, this is definitely hoppy but the hops are not overwhelming. There is a good deal of balance. A flowery pine is the predominant flavor with a little citrus, some spice and a subtle, underlying sweetness. Light side of medium bodied. Low side of moderate carbonation. Sheets of lacing on the glass. Touch of oil to an otherwise clean mouthfeel. Good length on a balanced, slightly dry, flavorful finish.
A very good extra pale ale that, while having a modest nose, is packed with flavor. Highly recommended.
