Firestone Walker DBA Double Barrel Ale

  • The DBA Double Barrel Ale from Firestone Walker Brewing Company in Paso Robles, California pours out a deep copper in color with some ruby hues, good clarity and is topped with a two finger, rocky, off-white head that slowly reduces to a film with a thick collar. On the nose, aromas of biscuit, caramel, hints of citrus and a little vanilla. In the mouth, this is very smooth with a little oakiness on the edges adding complexity. Flavors of bread, caramel, tea like tanin, vanilla and mellow, leafy bitterness. Light side of medium bodied. Moderate carbonation. Sheets of lacing on the glass. The mouthfeel is clean with some crispness. A long finish ends slightly bittersweet.

An easy drinking ESB with good flavor. Recommended.
