Named for Lava Lake, which is located off Highway 131 between Steamboat Springs and Vail, the Lava Lake Wit From Crazy Mountain Brewing Company in Edwards, Colorado pours out pale straw in color with good clarity and is topped with a one finger, snow white head that is tightly knit and slowly reduces down to a thin film. On the nose, aromas of coriander, yeast and a touch of chamomile. In the mouth, the chamomile and coriander are balanced. Slightly grassy and very clean. Light bodied. Low to moderate carbonation. Spotty lacing on the glass. Clean mouthfeel. The finish is fairly long and quite dry.
A lovely refreshing craft beer with nice herbal and spice aspects. Recommended.
