A big thanks to Ken for sending me this bottle of Florida Avenue IPA from Cold Storage Craft Brewery in Tampa, Florida. The Florida Avenue IPA pours out a light copper in color with good clarity and is topped with a one finger, dense, off-white head that reduces down to a thin film. On the nose, solid caramel aromas with mild citrus and floral hop aromas. In the mouth, this is initially sweet with a good dose of honey and caramel flavors that become slightly offset by citrus hop bitterness and a little spice. Light side of medium bodied. Low carbonation. Thick sheets of lacing on the glass. Slick mouthfeel. The finish is quite long and very balanced.
A very drinkable IPA that is more in the style of an English IPA than an American IPA. Good balance and flavor but a little light on the hops to be an American IPA. Recommended.
