Three Floyds Zombie Dust Pale Ale

  • Thanks to Mike for sending me this bottle of Zombie Dust Pale Ale from Three Floyds Brewing in Munster, Indiana. Zombie Dust pours out orangey-copper in color with just a little haze and is topped with a two finger, cream colored, tightly knit head. After over five minutes the head is still a finger tall and shows no signs of receding any further. On the nose, huge hop aromas of grapefruit rind and pine with some tropical fruit sweetness. In the mouth, big hop flavors but not overly bitter. Flavors of fresh squeezed grapefruit juice, orange peel, mild spice and a little lemon right at the end. Light side of medium bodied. Moderate carbonation. Slight oil to the mouthfeel. Thick sheets of lacing on the glass. Juicy citrus lasts on a long finish.

An excellent pale ale with tons of citrus flavor and good balance. Very quaffable. Highly recommended.

    12 ounce bottle, 6.4% ABV, 60 IBU

    Beer 167 of 366 for 2012
