Thanks to Mike for sending me this bottle of Magnificent Amber Ale from Triton Brewing Company in Indianapolis, Indiana. The Magnificent Amber Ale pours out a murky, orangey brown in color and is topped with a one finger, light tan, loose head that recedes quickly. On the nose, quite malty with a little roasted grain and some hoppiness. In the mouth, this is a rich, malty craft beer that envelops your mouth with flavor. Slightly sweet with some caramel, nuts, roasted grain, spice and mild hop bite cleaning things up a tad. Medium bodied. Moderate carbonation. Thin sheets of lacing on the glass. Round mouthfeel that is slightly chewy. The finish is long and the spice is slightly elevated, then the caramel peaks right at the end.
A good Amber Ale with a quite a few brown ale characteristics. Good flavor, nice balance and tasty. Recommended.
