The Rumble Oak Aged IPA from Great Divide Brewing Company in Denver, Colorado pours out a coppery amber in color with good clarity and is topped with a two finger, off-white, tightly knit head that slowly reduces down to a thin film with a nice collar. On the nose, oak tinged piney hops with some vanilla and a mild toffee sweetness. In the mouth, caramel and toffee sweetness at first followed by piney hop bitterness, a good dose of vanilla and a mild peppery spiciness. Medium bodied. Low to moderate carbonation. Beautiful, thick sheets of lacing on the glass. Nice, sticky mouthfeel. The finish is long with the oak flavors and bitter hops hanging out all the way to the end.
A really special IPA that has incredible flavor. The oak melds with the bitter hops as they mingle in the mouth. Highly recommended.
