No-Li Brewhouse Jet Star Imperial IPA

  • The Jet Star Imperial IPA from No-Li Brewhouse in Spokane, Washington pours out copper in color with wonderful clarity and is topped with a one and a half finger white head that reduces down to a thin film quite quickly. On the nose, lovely hoppy goodness. Aromas of pine, citrus rind, grass, light caramel and a little peppercorn. In the mouth, good bitterness that persists with just enough of a malt back bone to lend some balance between hop bitterness and malty sweetness. Flavors of pine, grapefruit rind, toffee, biscuit and some warm spice. Medium bodied. Good carbonation. Slightly slick mouthfeel. Thin sheets of lacing on the glass. The finish is quite long and mostly bitter with a kick of bitter hops and spice right towards the end.

A solid, well crafted Imperial IPA. Good bitterness that carries throughout the craft beer with just enough malt to rein things in a tad. Well worth the price of admission. Recommended.
