The Born & Raised IPA from No-Li Brewhouse in Spokane, Washington pours out a deep copper in color with some ruby hues, good clarity and is topped with a two finger, dense, off-white head that slowly reduces down to a thin film with a nice sized collar. On the nose, very hoppy, good bitter aroma. Aromas of resin, pine, citrus rind, earth and grass with a light toffee backing. In the mouth, coating flavor with enough balance to tame the hop bitterness. Flavors of pine, orange rind, grass and a good dose of toffee. Medium bodied. Good carbonation. Beautiful, thick sheets of lacing on the glass. Wonderful oily mouthfeel that coats your entire mouth. The finish is long, the flavors really hang on with the pine bitterness outlasting the balancing toffee.
A very good IPA with a ton of flavor and persistent bitterness that always lets you know it is there but does not go to far. Solid, well crafted and well worth finding and drinking. Recommended.
