Stone Brewing Co. Enjoy By 11.09.12 IPA

  • The Enjoy By 11.09.12 IPA (released Oct. 5) from Stone Brewing Company in Escondido, California pours out brassy in color with good clarity and is topped with an almost two finger, white head that slowly reduces down to a very thin film with a quarter inch collar. On the nose, big hops permeate with layer upon layer of bitter aroma. Aromas of pine, citrus rind, resin, tropical fruit, wild flower and a very light toffee. In the mouth, hoppy but very manageable. Flavors of toffee at first, but the hops build as the brew coats your mouth with bitter pine resin, citrus rind, lemon, herb, peach and a slightly dank flavor. Medium bodied. Low side of moderate carbonation. Splotchy lacing on the glass. Nice oil to the mouthfeel. The finish is long and bitter with dank, bitter, piney hops lasting the longest.

Fresh, bitter, well crafted and thoroughly drinkable. A wonderful Double IPA with a multitude of hop layers that tantalize the palate and quench your thirst. If you're in Colorado or Ohio, go find some of this. You will not be disappointed. Highly recommended.
