Marble Brewery IPA Review

  • The IPA from Marble Brewery in Albuquerque, New Mexico pours out copper in color with some brass colored hues and is topped by a two finger, off-white, foamy head that slowly reduces down to a thin film with a small collar. On the nose, aromas of resin, grapefruit rind, pine and just a little caramel sweetness. In the mouth, there is a little sweetness like on the nose but this is a lovely hop forward, bitter IPA. Flavors of pine, citrus rind, fresh grapefruit, light caramel and some earthy undertones. Medium bodied. Moderate carbonation. Nice oil in the mouthfeel. Moderately thick sheets of lacing on the glass. The finish is long and bitter with the layers of hop flavor slowly peeling away.

Marble Brewery's IPA is an excellent example among all the IPAs out there on the market. The refreshing bitterness with just a hint of sweetness is really pleasing to the palate. I've had the bottled version before but think this canned version tastes fresher. Go out and buy some. Highly recommended.
