Deschutes Hop Trip Fresh Hop Pale Ale Review

  • The Bond Street Series Hop Trip Fresh Hop Pale Ale from Deschutes Brewery in Bend, Oregon pours out a clear, deep copper in color with some amber hues and is topped with a two finger, almost white, frothy head that very slowly reduces down to a thin film with a good sized collar. On the nose, slightly dank with wonderful hop aromas and a little toffee sweetness. Aromas of earthy pine, grapefruit juice, orange and toffee. In the mouth, lovely bitterness but balanced with a solid malt backbone. Flavors of pine, grapefruit, toffee, earth, lemon and some biscuit. Medium bodied. Moderate carbonation. Slick, oily, coating mouthfeel. Sticky, thick sheets of lacing on the glass. The finish is very long and packed with flavor leaving a lovely hop bitterness right to the end.

Every year this is one of my favorite fresh hop craft beers and one I always seek out. This brew is very well crafted with tremendous flavor that continually piques your palate. Layers of bitterness and malt backing that seem to go on forever. Highly recommended.
