Sierra Nevada Tumbler Autumn Brown Ale Review

  • The Tumbler Autumn Brown Ale 2012 from Sierra Nevada Brewing Company in Chico, California pours out a cola brown in color with some light getting through and is topped with a two finger, foamy, light tan head that slowly reduces down to a thick film. On the nose, quite malty with a light roast. Aromas of nut, cocoa, biscuit, roast grain and caramel. In the mouth, good balance with layers of flavor and the slightest of hop bitterness. Flavors of toasted nuts, cocoa powder, biscuit and caramel. Medium bodied. Moderate carbonation. Sheets of lacing on the glass. Slight creaminess to the mouthfeel. The finish is medium length with good roast flavors and a mild hop bite.

A solid brown ale with very good flavor. If brown ales are your brew you will really like this one. Perfect for a cool fall afternoon. Recommended.
