Great Divide Belgian Style Yeti Imperial Stout Review

  • The Belgian Style Yeti Imperial Stout from Great Divide Brewing Company in Denver, Colorado pours out pitch black with no light getting through and is topped with a two finger, dark tan, dense head that slowly reduces down to a thick film with a good sized collar. On the nose, lovely roast malt aromas with subtle Belgian yeast. Aromas of roast grain, coffee, chocolate, yeast, molasses and a hint of spice. In the mouth, rich and smooth with mouth coating layers of flavor. Flavors of coffee, bittersweet chocolate, molasses, spice, yeast, roast grain and some dark fruit. Full bodied. Low side of moderate carbonation. Thick sheets of lacing on the glass. Rich, velvety, smooth mouthfeel with a hint of cream. The finish is long with the roast grain, coffee and chocolate lasting the longest accompanied by a slight bitterness.

A wonderful imperial stout that has layers of rich flavor that thoroughly coat the mouth egging you on to take another sip. Decadent and truly a joy to work your way through. Highly recommended.
