Three Floyds Topless Wytch Baltic Porter Review

  • The Topless Wytch Baltic Porter from Three Floyds Brewing in Munster, Indiana pours out jet black in color with no light getting through and is topped with a uniformly bubbled, khaki colored head that reduces down to a thin film with a small collar. On the nose, lovely roast aromas permeate the nose. Aromas of coffee, dark chocolate, roast grain, burnt toffee and a little funk. In the mouth, luxurious and silky smooth with complex layers. Flavors of coffee, toffee, molasses, bittersweet chocolate, roasted grain, dried currant some charcoal and a light, bitter, green hoppiness. Medium to full bodied. Fine carbonation. Some lacing on the glass. Quite creamy and velvety in the mouthfeel. The finish is long with the bitter and roast flavors clinging to a mild molasses sweetness right to the end.

A wonderful Baltic Porter with exceptional flavor and incredible smoothness. Layer upon layer of complexity mingled into one bolder expression of uniformity. One of the best Baltic Porters I've had. Highly recommended.
