Avery Brewing Co. Old Jubilation Ale Review

  • The Limited Release Old Jubilation Ale from Avery Brewing Co. in Boulder, Colorado pours out dark mahogany brown in color with little light getting through and is topped with a two finger, khaki, small bubbled head that slowly reduces down to a thin film with a quarter inch collar. On the nose, all malt and slightly sweet. Aromas of roast grain, toffee, nut, coffee and a little chocolate. In the mouth, silky smooth and rich. Flavors of toffee, mocha, dark chocolate, light coffee and a little earth. Medium bodied. Low to moderate carbonation. Thick sheets of sticky lacing on the glass. Smooth, velvety mouthfeel. The finish is long as the layers the layers of flavor peal away leaving a toffee nuttiness right at the end.

A really good Old Ale with a ton of flavor that melds well coating your mouth with each sip. Deep and warm without the spice to confuse the palate, this craft beer really pleases. Recommended.
