The Fresh Hop Warrior IPA from Left Hand Brewing Company in Longmont, Colorado pours out a reddish-copper in color with some small suspended sediment and is topped with just over a finger of white, dense head that slowly reduces down to thin film with a small collar. On the nose, some malt sweetness but mostly fresh, hoppy aromas. Aromas of pine, citrus rind, caramel and a little flower. In the mouth, the hops shine with a subtle malt backing. Flavors of grapefruit rind, pine, flower, earth, a little bread and toffee. Medium bodied. Moderate carbonation. Sheets of lacing on the glass. The mouthfeel is fairly clean with just a little slickness. The finish is long, slightly dry and bitter with the malt sweetness fading away first so that the hops can shine.
A really good fresh hop IPA with lovely hop flavor. The hops are the star in this brew. One of the better Fresh Hop IPAs available. Recommended.
