The Pinstripe Red Ale from Ska Brewing Company in Durango, Colorado pours out a coppery-amber in color with good clarity and is topped with just over a finger of off-white, sudsy head that slowly reduces down to a patchy film with a decent sized collar. On the nose, quite clean with mostly malt coming through. Aromas of biscuit, caramel and a little flower. In the mouth, quite clean again and definitely a malt driven beer. Flavors of biscuit, caramel, flower, a little lemon and a very mild graininess. Light to medium bodied. Vibrant carbonation. Thick sheets of lacing on the glass. Clean, crisp mouthfeel. The finish is moderate in length and very crisp with a distinct bitterness lasting the longest.
A very straight forward ale that is crisp and easy to drink. Nothing over the top about this craft beer but that is what makes it such a good drinker and a good session ale. Recommended.
