The He'Brew Messiah Nut Brown Ale from Shmaltz Brewing Company in Saratoga Springs, New York pours out cola brown in color with a little light getting through and is topped with a small bubbled, one-plus finger, light tan head that reduces down to a thin film. On the nose, classic brown ale. Aromas of roast grain, toasted nuts, dark bread, molasses and a little earthy chocolate. In the mouth, rich and very flavorful especially when allowed to warm a little. Flavors of toffee, molasses, roast grain, nuts, chocolate, coffee and a little bread. Medium bodied. Fine carbonation. Some lacing on the glass. Slight syrup in a mildly weighted mouthfeel. The finish has good length with the sweetness and nut holding out right to the end as the other flavors fall away.
A good brown ale with excellent flavor. Let this warm up a tad rather than drinking it straight out of the fridge. I think you'll find it really comes into its own at 50-55F. Recommended.
