The Bond Street Series Hop Henge Experimental IPA from Deschutes Brewery in Bend, Oregon pours out a golden-orange in color with good clarity and is topped with a two finger, cream colored, thick head that slowly reduces to a thin film with a quarter inch collar. Lovely pine and citrus hop aromas on the nose with some caramel sweetness. In the mouth the pine, grapefruit and orange are prominent and possess a good bitterness that is highlighted by the sweet tones of mango and toffee. A nice dose of booze comes in near the end. Medium bodied. Good carbonation. Sheets of lacing on the glass. Nice slick mouthfeel with a hint of cream. The finish is long with the bitter pine and grapefruit outlasting the sweetness.
A big, boozy IPA with wonderful flavor and although very hoppy there is a good amount of malt trying to balance things. Well worth the money. A treat to drink. If you see this on the shelf it is a must buy. Highly recommended.
