The Cache La Porter Brown Porter Ale, named for the Cache la Poudre River, from Pateros Creek Brewing Company in Fort Collins, Colorado pours out very dark brown in color and is topped with a two finger, tightly knit, tan head that slowly recedes to a thin film with a small collar. On the nose, aromas of chocolate, charcoal, roast grain and toast. In the mouth, nice roast grain, chocolate and toffee flavors. Medium bodied. Good carbonation. A little weight and slight creaminess in the mouthfeel. Thin sheets of lacing on the glass. Good length finish with the chocolate and roast gain flavors riding right to the end.
A solid porter with wonderful flavor that is very drinkable. A great dark session beer. I'd definitely buy this again. Recommended.
