The Ten Minutes of Pleasure Berliner Weisse from Trinity Brewing Company in Colorado Springs, Colorado is a collaboration with New Belgium Brewing Company in Fort Collins, Colorado. This craft beer is never boiled and is fermented with lactobacillus, brettanomyces and German ale yeast then aged in French oak barrels.
Ten Minutes of Pleasure pours out lemon in color with some cloud and is topped with almost a finger of snow white, fizzy head that quickly recedes all the way down. Aromas of lemon, pepper and funk with a touch of oak on the nose. Tart in the mouth with good acidity. Flavors of lemon and lime, grape, mild funkiness, faint coconut, a little earth and some oakiness from the barrel. Moderate carbonation. Very light bodied. Crisp, clean mouthfeel. No lacing on the glass. The finish is tart, mildly funky, slightly dry and lasts a good while.
A very refreshing, well crafted beer that was perfect for the hot, 95F day I drank this. Lovely tartness and a super clean body with some Chenin Blanc wine qualities. If you're looking for a summer beer to sip on a really hot day, you'd really like this. Highly recommended.
