Raspberry Hefeweiss Beer Bread with Blueberries Recipe

  • Excerpt from my Examiner.com blog,  NY Beer Pairing Examiner.    Read full text of this entry, and a complete list of other entries there.

Delicious, simple beer bread transforms a beer that isn't terrible, but isn't outstanding enough to drink on its own. Although Harpoon's Raspberry UFO Hefeweizen is underwhelming by itself, it makes a great vinaigrette.

In this variation on a versatile  basic beer bread recipe from Cincinnati Baking Examiner Aimee Plesa, the raspberry hefeweiss adds a subtle yeasty, fruity essence to the dough of the beer bread, combining beautifully with blueberries.  This easy recipe would suit a breakfast or brunch menu beautifully.

Variations of beer and other ingredients make the basic beer bread recipe a kitchen essential with endless possibilities, savory or, as in this case, sweet.
