If you get a chance to go to a beer tasting run by Ithaca Beer Company, cancel any other plans and go. Or take a road trip to the brewery, to take home a few growlers and try some of the suggested pairings on your own. With a bit of luck, you can find six packs of Ithaca's Apricot Wheat or Nut Brown locally, at well-stocked beer retailers like Whole Foods' Bowery location. Ithaca's beer is well worth the hunt or the long drive.
"Each of the beers they do is a great example of its style." said Dave Scher, who attended the Bar Great Harry tasting after visiting the brewery on a recent vacation.
