look: 3 | smell: 4 | taste: 3.5 | feel: 3 | overall: 4.5
City/State- Lakewood, New York
STYLE – American Pale Wheat Ale
ABV – 5.8%
IBU – 56
DATE – 5 JUN 2011
SERVING TYPE – 12 oz Bottle
GLASSWARE – Tumbler
APPEARANCE – A little cloudy and has a honey color to it. Lacking in head right out of the bottle, and what little head was on the beer quickly went away leaving only foam on the edges of the glass. No lacing and the little bit of foam on the edge of that went away with in the first few sips.
AROMA- Some nice fruity notes, a hint of banana and citrus
TASTE – Very refreshing as you would expect from a PWA. I do not taste the citrus too much but I do taste the banana and some spice as well. As the beer warms a little I am noticing hints of ginger as well.
MOUTHFEEL – A little syrupy and fizzy
CONCLUSION – not to bad I could do without the thickness, being a beer brewed for warmer weather it just does not make sense for it to have the syrup texture. This is a fine beer and I would drink it again, in fact I would even buy it. Although it is more of a straight from the bottle beer.
