Beer/Brewery - Southern Tier 2XIPA/Southern Tier
A+ / 4.63 look: 4.5 | smell: 4 | taste: 5 | feel: 4.5 | overall: 4.5
City/State- Lakewood, New York
STYLE – American Double / Imperial IPA
ABV – 8.2% IBU – Unknown
DATE – 17 JUN 2011
SERVING TYPE – 12 ox Bottle
GLASSWARE – Short Pilsner
APPEARANCE - Clear yellow with a nice stream of bubbles coming up from the bottom of the glass, although there is not a very good head on the beer just a thin layer across the top
AROMA - I do not even need to bring the glass to my nose I can smell the hops already. Nice hop smell with a sweet grapefruit as well.
TASTE - Very mild in the beginning but a hit of grapefruit on the after note. No linger after taste though.
MOUTHFEEL - Very light on the tongue and a nice carbonation that linger for about 45 seconds after each sip.
CONCLUSION - I would have to say out of all the IPAs I have tried this week (It has been IPA week for me) this is by far me favorite. Not to hoppy but enough to let you know it is there.
