B+ / 3.98 look: 4.5 | smell: 3.5 | taste: 4 | feel: 4.5 | overall: 4
City/State- Greenwood, Indiana
STYLE – American Pale Ale (APA)ABV – 6.9% IBU – 45
DATE – 18 JUN 2011
SERVING TYPE – Bottle
GLASSWARE – Tall Pilsner
APPEARANCE – Reddish yellow not quite orange, good flow of bubbles coming up from the bottom of the glass. Nice ½ head that stays with the beer with wonderful lacing
AROMA- Hops right off the kilt , in fact the hops is overpowering everything else.
TASTE – Pale Ale? No this is more like an IPA. I guess this is why it is called Gnaw Bone; I am gnawing on some hops here. AS I drink this the hops start to settle down.
MOUTHFEEL – Very crisp, and a lingering tickle in the checks
CONCLUSION – One I got past the initial hops blast I really enjoyed this beer. Next time I may try it straight out of the bottle to tone down the hops.
