Rogue Ales Captain Sig's Deadliest Ale

  • Was anxious to try this ale since it came out in October, and finally got my hands on one.  I was not disappointed.  14.5 Plato (5.8 ABV Approx), classified as American Amber/Red Ale.

Appearance:  Cloudy Amber in color with light tan head.  Head held fast for a good 5 minutes, and left really nice lacing on the glass

Aroma:  Slightly fruity malt aroma, not a strong nose

Taste/Mouthfeel:  Up front get the malt, then the hoppy bitterness kicks in with a slight citrus honey finish.

I would definitely buy this again.  A portion of the proceeds also goes to support the Fisherman's Fund.  I love Deadliest Catch, and Sig Hansen's boat is my fav.  Cheers to you Sig, and Rogue!

    I would give this beer a B+

Mark I'll have to find some to try. I do not think I have seen that at the store.

Munichbeerboy I think you have summed it up quite well. I would also rate this Ale a B to B+... Love most of the Rogue Ales! Good work again Herr Maier.
