On draught at Dilly Deli, Mariemont, OH, 6.2% ABV, Brouwerij De Ranke, Wevelgem Belgium
Hazy golden hue capped with thick, dense mousse-like head. Aroma is tangy-tart and spicy with cloves, some pepper and yeast. Moderately full-bodied, creamy texture, tingly carbonation. Tastes of clove with a solid, pithy bittering, some floral & grapefruit hop notes. Big flavours. Sour note evident as well, making it quite refreshing. Like a strong, hoppy wit with some added brett character, or a hopped-up, lower alcohol tripel. Lengthy finish with lots of bitterness, lingering clove and fruit. Left some nice Belgian lace. I would pair with rich, soft cheeses, quiche, or artisan bread & butter.
