Weyerbacher, Easton, PA; 9% ABV
Cloudy orange-amber appearance; warm cream-beige head lasts a few minutes. Aroma of citric hops with an orangey note and caramelized malt/sugar. Fairly big body with a smooth and velvety texture. Fine carbonation bead. Slightly sweet up front with caramel and malt, orange candy and floral hops. Bitterness eases in and builds into an extended finish. Buttery note early. Fantastic, lingering bitterness.
Excellent beer! A little reminiscent of Ale to the Chief, but also different. Pleasing. Alcohol becomes more evident as it loses some chill, but isn’t overpowering. Slight oiliness in the finish.
