It's a global seach for those Beers for Asia , hits the store and look over the shelves and find any beer fron Asia. They are out there and can be found most anywhere look for beers from Myanmar to Thailand to Malaysia to Cambodia to Singapore to Laos to China to India to Japan and beyond.

Laos
Serving type: bottle
ABV: 4.9

A-Pours a golden yellow with really light head, and decent lacing.

S-Light malt, some grain if you reach for it, Slight hops.

T-Slightly sweet light malt, smooth grain, slight hops on the tongue and light metal finish even in a bottle.

M-Good moderate carbonation, light-bodied, and smooth almost watery. Balance leans a tad toward the sweet side.

D-decent as far as what you can get while traveling in Asia. This is one of the better lagers I've had from countries not known for their brewing abilities.

Kirin Ichiban Special Premium Reserve Lager, Kirin Brewery Company, Japan, 5.00% ABV

The Kirin Ichiban Special Premium Reserve Lager from Kirin Brewery Company in Japan pours out a golden yellow in color with good clarity and a one finger white head that readily dissipates. On the nose aromas of malt and sweet fruit. in the mouth this has a fair amount of sweetness and I swear I can taste corn even though this is made with the use of rice. Some toasty flavors too. Light bodied. Well carbonated. Little lacing. Clean mouthfeel. Pretty short, rather lack luster finish. I believe this is brewed by AB-InBev here in the US. I'd say it is better than Budweiser but nothing special.

Tiger Lager, Asia Pacific Breweries, Singapore, 5.00% ABV

The Tiger Lager from Asia Pacific Breweries in Singapore pours out a deep yellow in color with good clarity and a one finger, white head that briefly sticks around. On the nose aromas of husk, hay, cereal and a touch of sweetness. In the mouth the pale malt sweetness come first followed by a mild hop bite. Light bodied. Good carbonation. Some lacing. Clean mouthfeel. Quite dry on the finish. A decent beer but I'm not seeing a reason to buy this over a micro brew when the price is so close

Asahi Black Kuronama, Asahi Breweries, Japan, 5.00% ABV

The Asahi Black Kuronama from Asahi Breweries in Japan pours out jet black in color with a tan head that is slightly larger than one finger and hangs around. On the nose aromas of roasted malt, brown sugar, vanilla and a little spice. In the mouth subtle flavors of coffee, chocolate, caramel with some dark fruit and almost a chalkiness or charcoal like undertone. Medium bodied. Moderate carbonation. Nice lacing. Pretty clean mouthfeel for a dark beer. Nice finish with a touch of bitterness. I liked this and would buy it again. It has character but if you are looking for stout boldness this is not for you. More a dark beer with a lighter side.

never really been a fan of Asian beer but the Asahi Super Dry went well as a sake bomb and great for stir fry but all together not or me.

ABV 5.20%

A: Pours a golden color. Slightly heavy carbonation pours that has a 2 finger, airy, white head. Lots of carbonation continues to rise and the head eventually dissipates completely. Virtually no lacing to speak of.

S: Wheat, malt, and wet hay/straw are present and some faint sweetness.

T: Light malt, and little a barley or straw/hay taste. It does pretty much tastes like it smells.

M: Light body. Has a "weird funky musty basement" aftertaste that punches you right in the nose on the first and second taste.

D: Drinkable, and the taste and body are ok, but the aftertaste is like I said is "weird & funky" and just off.

I have drunk many Sapporo styles though out my years of traveling into the Pacific Rim, but this one is different not a bad different, just different.

Hitachino Nest Red Rice Ale, Kiuchi Brewery, Ibaraki-ken Naka-gun, Japan, 7.00% ABV

The Hitachino Nest Red Rice Ale from Kiuchi Brewery in Ibaraki-ken Naka-gun, Japan pours out reddish amber in color with pretty good clarity and a one finger white head. On the nose aromas of cooked white rice, sweet and sour and a floral earthiness. In the mouth this is quite tart and bitter with spicy undertones and some fresh berries. Light side of medium bodied. Good carbonation. Some lacing. Crisp clean mouthfeel. Dry on a pretty long finish. A different beer that is well worth trying. Should pair very well with sushi.

Hitachino Nest Sweet Stout, Kiuchi Brewery, Ibaraki-ken Naka-gun, Japan, 3.90% ABV

The Hitachino Nest Sweet Stout from Kiuchi Brewery in Ibaraki-ken Naka-gun, Japan pours out jet black in color with no light getting through and a one finger mocha colored head. On the nose aromas of cocoa, roasted grain, slight tartness and very faint soy sauce. In the mouth this is lemony tart with deep roasted flavors, some caramel and a hint of green apple. Full bodied. Moderate carbonation. Minimal lacing. Slight creaminess to the mouthfeel. Dry, bitter finish heavy on the roasted flavor. This is just not for me and the name comes across as confusing being labelled Sweet Stout when it is one of the most bitter, acrid stouts I have tasted. Hard to recommend this at $4.99/11.2 ounce bottle.
