WinterBraun Ale, Lost Coast Brewery & Cafe, Eureka, CA, 6.50% ABV
The WinterBraun Ale from Lost Coast brewing Company in Eureka, California pours out a chocolate brown in color with good clarity and a two finger, frothy head that has good retention. On the nose aromas of dark bread, roasted grain and a slight sweetness. In the mouth there is a good deal more roasted grain with a touch of caramel sweetness accented by chocolate and a nuttiness. Medium bodied. Nice carbonation. Good lacing. Crispness to the mouthfeel with just a little creaminess. The finish is quite long with good roast flavors and chocolate.
I kicked of the season with a trip to one of my favorite brewing companies Ska Brewing Durango Colorado. I didnt go skiing but if i did i would of taken there Euphoria Pale Ale with me. This winter offering is full of the finest hand picked hops, each can has a balance of malts, mountain fresh water, yeast, hops and love.So fish ski recycle and enjoy the outdoors with this brew hand crafted in the mighty San Juan Mountains! 
Widmer Brothers Brrr Seasonal Ale Full bodied 7.2%abv full of pale and chocolate malts, first a sweet mouth full bringing you to immediate heavy spice and bitter hops with a smooth velvet finish. 
Sierra Nevada Celebration Ale IPA 6.8%abv a quick flavor explosion of caramel malts very very hoppy the way it should be little grassy with a piney bitterness well balanced. both very excellent winter time beers
