Victory Brewing Co. - Downington PA
HopDevil IPA - 6.7% ABV

A: Pours a nice amber color with a large head that quickly dissipates

S: Hoppy. Some citrus and pine smells

T: Again, hoppy. Taste the citrus, and a little honey. This is a beer for hop-heads, and may turn off others...has the bitter hop taste, but not overwhelming.

M: Fairly light bodied. Not a heavy beer

D: A nice drinkable beer

I give this beer a "B"

Hop Juice Double IPA 9.90% ABV
Two Brothers Brewing Company, Warrenville, IL

Hop Juice from Two Brothers Brewing Company in Warrenville, IL pours out amber in color with nice clarity and a fluffy, off white head that hangs on for a little while. On the nose I get a lot of candied grapefruit and a little spice. In the mouth the hop bitterness is quite mellow at first and then slightly intensifies only to be subdued again by malt and toffee flavors. Medium bodied. Moderate carbonation. Nice lacing. Slight oil to the mouthfeel. The finish is pretty long and the hops give you one last kick. A very enjoyable Double IPA.

Hoppin' To Heaven IPA 6.80% ABV
Hoppin' Frog Brewing Company, Akron, OH

The Hoppin' To Heaven IPA from Hopping Frog Brewing Company in Akron, OH pours out a rusty amber color with a fair amount of cloud and an off white head that reduces to a film fairly quickly. On the nose I get a good deal of citrus with some pine, tea and malt. No noticeable sweetness in the aroma though. In the mouth I get a lot of earthy bitterness with some citrus tones, iced tea and not too much else. Nice lacing. Medium bodied. Good carbonation. Almost chalky, gritty mouthfeel. The finish is quite long with the bitterness and the tea flavors most prominent.

120 Minute IPA, 21.00% ABV
Dogfish Head Craft Brewery, Milton, DE

The 120 Minute IPA from Dogfish Head Craft Brewery in Milton, DE pours out a fairly cloudy, deep amber in color with a nice off white, almost tan head that dissipates to a film after a short while. On the nose I get big sweet grapefruit, pine, raisin, honey and a little alcohol. Syrupy in the mouth with a good dose of alcohol heat. Flavors of raisin, citrus bitterness, ripe grape, orange and a slight medicinal herbiness. Full bodied and potent. Some lacing. Good Carbonation. Warm, syrupy mouthfeel. The finish goes on forever and has a lot of sweetness to it. This truly is a classic beer in a league by itself that is very well made. Everyone should try it just for the experience.

Weyerbacher Double Simcoe

A- Nice orange hazy hue, small head poured into a pint glass.

S- Big grapefruit citrus is about all you get in this. The high alpha simcoes will do that thpugh.

T- Citrus again, but still get some malty sweetness. Relatively speaking this is a well balanced beer for the style. It doesn't kill your taste buds with the over the top hops of a double IPA (which is fine also) Those simcoes just sit on the back of the palate too. Its been about 1 min since I took a sip and its till nice and bitter back there.

Overall a well put together beer. Would suggest this to anybody that can get their hands on it.

Hey Mark, try to age this one if you can. Hops really come forward about two years down the road.
