Looking for beer geeks who are interested in investing in a home brew for 2009. I will be driving to Alabama to visit my brother in Huntsville (in around 3 to 4 months so plenty of time to get money together and think about whether or not you're in) and on the way back I was planning on going to the Jack Daniels hardware store next to the distillery which sells used wet JD barrels to use for brewing purposes. I have read that with one of these barrels you can put 2 gallons of water in them and rotate your barrel for a few months and have two gallons of JDs, so I can imagine with 60 gallons of beer it will have a very nice taste to it. As my friends and I do not want to enjoy these brews alone we are inviting others to join in, I wish we could just hand out beer to everyone for free but we are students and don't have a lot of cash. Each barrel is just under $75 bucks and we were planning on getting two. The two brews we plan on doing unless we get an overwhelming request for others from the investors: the first batch would be Frosty Toad British Ale and the second would be a batch of Spiced Imperial Stout. Each barrel holds 60 gallons. E-mail me at
trout8783@yahoo.com if you're interested. I also have people from the Stlhops forum who are involved as well, so it should make for a nice brew party when finished.
Our home brewery is called Dirty Knife Brewing because in 2004 the first batch made we dropped a dirty ass knife in it and when it was ready for drinking we all joked that it was so good because of that dirty ass knife.
