  Ok, I'm excited to get going on two of my favorite things: Beer and chocolate...what's a woman without her chocolate? So here we go:
  
  Brewery Ommegang - Cooperstown, NY
  Ommegang Chocolate Indulgence Belgian Strong Ale
  7% ABV
  
  Appearance: This beer has a lot of sediment so needs a gentle pour, but it pours out almost black and thick with a nice tan head
  
  Nose: Smell the malt, yeast, and cocoa
  
  Taste: I really fell in love with this beer. It tasted really smooth, almost like a caffe mocha. Had the coffee and cocoa powder initial "pow" with a yeasty bread like finish. Really smooth, no bite to it at all.
  
  Overall, very enjoyable. I definitely would seek it out again.
  
  I give it an "A".

  Young's Double Chocolate Stout:
  Wells & Youngs Brewing- Bedford UK
  5.2% ABV
  
  Pours a deep black, with a light tan head. Smells like cocoa. In the mouth it has a strong chocolate flavor, along with smoky hints and slight coffee/hazelnut after tones, yet just enough hop to remind you it is indeed a beer. Very smooth to drink.
  
  As good as I remember it being in the past.
  
  an "A" in my book.

  Young's Luxury Double Chocolate Stout, 500ml bottle, 5.20% ABV
  Wells & Young brewing Company, Bedford, England
  
  The Double Chocolate stout from Wells & Youngs pours out jet black letting no light through with a deep tan head. Sweet cocoa on the nose, sort of like a hot chocolate powder, and some roasted malt. Decent chocolate in the mouth but double chocolate? Not quite there. Some coffee undertones and roast malt flavors too. A bit watery for a stout. Mild Carbonation. Nice lacing on the glass. Creamy mouthfeel. Nice dry finish with the chocolate being the main focus.

  Southern Tier Choklat, 750mL bottle, 11% ABV
  Southern Tier Brewing, Lakewood, NY, USA
  
  I LOVE this beer, it is a decadent treat through and through. Just so happened to review this one on my site the other day:
  
  The beer was delivered in a glorious 750mL bomber with an over-sized tulip glass. As I poured, it looked as thick as motor oil: blacker than black, no highlights, minimal tan head; a viscous empty void. Without even having to lean in for a whiff, there was a strong aroma of chocolate. Resembling a light milk chocolate/cocoa smell, or better yet Tootsie Roll, the aroma was sweet with virtually no malt, alcohol, or hops accent. The smell was comforting, rather bold and quite surprising.
  
  The taste was as rich as the smell - pure chocolate. Not syrupy sweet, but deliciously mellow and warming. A substantial smooth body, slick, almost like an oatmeal without the wicked aftertaste. The lack of alcohol on the tongue was amazing at 11% ABV, incredibly hard to believe it packed as much punch. It went down smooth and easy, although I wouldn’t necessarily have more than one. One is perfect.

  I agree with your description of the smell/taste of Young's. It was hard for me to place, but yea hot chocolate powder is a very apt description.

  Rogue Chocolate Stout
  Rogue Brewery
  Newport, Oregon ( I could live there at the brewery in a cask whatever)
  
  ABV 6%
  Bottle
  
  A- Dense dark brown almost black with a beautiful creamy/caramel tan head. Looks delicious.
  
  S- Smells of brown sugar, sweet dark fruits dipped in dark chocolate. a hint of spice. Black forest chocolate cake, even Kahlua. This is maybe one of the best-smelling stout I've had to date. Just awesome.
  
  T- Dark candy chocolate. Brown sugar and nuts. Thick, dark smoke. Roasted coffee. Oatmeal. As this warms up, it becomes more roasted mocha The lingering taste is bitter dark chocolate with that coffee. If you think you know what you're going to taste with this beer, you'll be wrong every time you take a sip. Outstanding. This one should be served a cellar temp as it will open up and make you smile.
  
  M- Silky smooth and a little bit chewy. there is almost no bite to this beer, but it doesn't need it.
  
  D- What can be said? this is a heavy, rich, dark chocolate kind of beer with an immense and complex flavor. I can sum this one up as awesome…..try one or two and feel the warmth….

  Stone Brewing Co., Escondido, CA
  12th Anniversary Bitter Chocolate Oatmeal Stout
  
  Stone, always a favorite, does not disappoint with this one.
  
  A: Very thick, syrup like, with very little head, and dark, almost black
  
  S: I don't know why but I swear it smelled like Quaker Maple Brown Sugar Oatmeal with maybe a hint of chocolate
  
  T: I only got a hint of the chocolate, with a candied fruit sweetness to it, almost like dates. Not bitter or hoppy in the slightest. Smoothness from the oatmeal
  
  M: Medium-bodied, smooth, oatmeal mellows out the alcohol
  
  D: I know it saws 9.2% ABV but goes down smooth. Very drinkable and enjoyable.
  
  I give this beer an "A"!

  Name - Samuel Adams Chocolate Bock
  Country - United States
  Type - Bock
  
  Appearance - Very dark brown with slightly reddish highlights to it. Fizzy tan head that went down very quickly.
  
  Smell - Sweet malts with a mild chocolate smell.
  
  Taste - Not as chocolaty as one might imagine. It was there but not a lot. Very sweet malts.
  
  I remember reading about this only having won a contest for the next brew by Sam Adams. When I saw it in the store I just felt I had to grab it. It wasn’t as heavy as I thought it was going to be. It was very smooth with a nice sweet flavor. I had the first glass by itself and then on the second glass had it with a piece of my mom’s homemade chocolate cake. The cake helped bring out the chocolate flavors a bit. While note as chocolaty as I would have thought I still thought it was a good brew.
